Rules and Regulations



1.       
General
1.1.0           Knock-out format of play is applied for all categories irrespective of number of participants at all stages
1.1.1           This tournament will practice the rules and regulations from BWF (Badminton World Federation)
  1. Qualification
2.1.0           This tournament is open to the citizens of Malaysia and neighboring countries
2.1.1           Open Category
2.1.1.1       This category is open to players of all ages and skill level.
2.1.1.2      Current and Former State & National players are encouraged to take part in this category
2.1.2           Closed Category
2.1.2.1      Players with the following criteria are strictly RESTRICTED from this category
-          Current or Former State or National player born between 1/1/1971 –     31/12/1997
-          State player consider as those players who have played in the National Junior Circuit.
2.1.3           Veteran Category
2.1.3.1       This category is open to players born on or before 31/12/1966 (aged 45 and above in 2012)
2.1.3.2      There are no restrictions for skill level in this category
2.1.4           Kids Talent
2.1.4.1       This category is open to players born on or after 1/1/1999 (aged 12 and   below in 2012)
2.1.4.2       There are no restrictions for skill level in this category
  1. Registration
3.1.0           Only complete Registration Forms together with complete fees are accepted
3.1.1           The name of the player should be according to the player’s IC. In the case that the player registers himself using his nickname, he will be immediately disqualified. E.g. Ong Kun Xiong registers as Danny Ong.
3.1.2           Players must produce their IC for registration upon the request of the Organizer. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the player.
3.1.3           Players are reminded to collect the official receipt from the organizer for confirmation of entries.
3.1.4           All participants are required to keep their receipts and bring it along for registration on the event day.
3.1.5           Registration Fees are not refundable.

  1. Gameplay
4.1.0           The format of play for this tournament adheres to the 21 point, best of 3 games format in accordance with the BWF rules and regulations.
  1. Withdrawal & Substitution
5.1.0           Participants who decide to withdraw from the tournament must inform the Organizers before the start of the event first match.
5.1.1           A participant can be substituted by another player before the event begins. No substitutions will be entertained after the event starts.
5.1.2           Application of substitution will only be approved if the player has a valid reason to miss the tournament
  1. Draw & Match Schedule
6.1.0           The drawlot session will be conducted by the event committee members
6.1.1           The date, time and venue of the draw lot session will be announced on the event website
6.1.2           All players are encouraged to attend the drawlot session
6.1.3           The match schedule is subject to change depending on the number of participants.
6.1.4           IT IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL WINNERS TO ATTEND THE PRIZE PRESENTATION CEREMONY ON 15TH APPRIL 2012 TO COLLECT THEIR PRIZE.FAILURE TO ATTEND THE PRESENTATION CEREMONY WILL RESUIT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF THE SAID PRIZE WINNER.
6.1.5           No representatives are allowed to receive prizes on behalf of the winners.
  1. Protest
7.1.0           Only players may protest for any incidents deemed unjust by the players
7.1.1           The Organizers will only take action on an incident if there are protests
7.1.2           All protests must be reported to the referee in written from within 1 hour after the match with a fee of RM 100. The Organizers will only accept written or printed form of a protest and no other forms of protest
7.1.3           The decision of the referee on points of law will be FINAL and no appeal will be entertained.
7.1.4           The RM 100 will be returned if the protest has valid grounds; otherwise, the RM 100 will be forfeited.
  1. Walkover
8.1.0           Players are not allowed to walkover their matches from the Semi-Final stage onwards without a valid reason.
8.1.1           The Organizers will confiscate the cash and prizes of players who fail to obey the rule above.
  1. Disclaimer
9.1.0           While reasonable precautions will be taken, the organizer shall not be held responsible or liable for any loss of personal belongings, injuries, death, medical expenses incurred before, during or after the tournament.
9.1.1           The Organizers reserve the exclusive rights to amend/change or add/delete on to the rules & regulations and prizes above without prior notice.
9.1.2           The Organizers have the right to disqualify any players who fail to adhere to the rules & regulations above.
